Don't worry if your site does not show up immediately. Due to the volume and back log of some search engines, your site can take up to 1 month or even more to get listed. Others may only take a day or two. Here are some alternative ways of letting web users know about your site: 1) You can find sites and pages that will list your site for free. You can find a listing here. They consist of directories, yellow pages, malls, portals and other 'links' pages.
2) Find sites that may similar to yours (or not) that would be interested in reciprocating ads or links. 3) Some hosts and ISP's will list sites that they are hosting. Check with yours to see if you can get your site listed. 4) Find newsgroups that may have readers
interested in your site. Place your link or ad in the newsgroup. 5) Just like newsgroups, there are mailing lists that may have subscribers that may be interested in your site. Subscribe to the list and post a message about your site. |
